When first approached we had to check Google maps to confirm exactly where Papua New Guinea was.
Finding it in the southern oceans presented problems. Firstly did we have an Agent close by who could instigate the legal process if necessary and secondly what were the collection costs going to be.
Fifteen months later we can report a recovery of in excess of £40,000 without having to go the legal route.
We were certainly given the run around and sent all sorts of promises that payment was on it’s way. Blame was put on the PNG banking system. COVID 19 was of course used to further delay payment.
Negotiations were long and seemed to drag on forever with the debtor not quite sure how to respond. As always our persistent approach explaining we were simply not going away won the day.
