Jess Corser – Equestrian Rider & Dealer

The horse called ‘Dexter’ was advertised on a Facebook page belonging to a horse dealer called Jess Corser. Jess is a professional Event rider and horse dealer based at Leire Livery Stables in Leicestershire. Jess was selling the horse called ‘Dexter’ and our client was happy to take the word of Jess who he new relatively well to trust her word on if the horse in question would do the job he required it for.
The advert from Jess’s Facebook page dated the 4th August 2023 described the horse as working sweetly on the flat with three correct paces, light in hand and holds himself together well –

Jess was asked if he had any bad habits? She said NO. She did say he didn’t like showjumping and would sometimes refuse to jump in a riding arena. On that basis our client an accomplished jockey purchased Dexter to be used as a Hunter. He paid directly to Jess Corser £5250.00 and collected the horse directly from Jess’s equestrian facility.

The description of a ‘Hunter’ should be that they are mannerly and sound. Jess did say ‘Dexter’ had hunted with her groom and was well behaved. When the horse arrived home he was given a few days to settle in. After about a week he started to nap/play up during straightforward exercise. On the 21st September 2023 he was taken cross country schooling, just a few yards from our clients home.

He behaved like an absolute lunatic, napping and rearing and running backwards. Our client’s wife an extremely accomplished event rider rode him, he eventually ended up running backwards and falling over a fence and giving our client’s wife a nasty fall. All these actions were videoed.

At the time of SALE non of these issues were disclosed as if so our client would never have purchased him. Following this incident our client spoke to Jess Corser. She simply said speak to the horses owner as she was just acting as the Agent. The owner washed her hands of the problem.

This horse had been incorrectly advertised with false statements and as a buyer from a professional who earns her living from the sale of horses. Jess Corser was contacted within 30 days from the date of purchase therefore the Return of Goods act applies. The horse was misdescribed and a full refund requested. Unfortunately no resolution has been found. Jess Corser is an Equestrian professional who earns money from the sale of horses using social media websites such as Facebook to advertise. She also has a specific page on Instagram under the name jc_eventing for the ‘Sale’ of Horses. She also sells via the YOUTUBE channel again confirming she is a horse dealer. TikTok Jess Corser Eventing @jesscorser. Her website is www.jesscorser.co.uk.

This matter has been taken through the COUNTY COURT process and a COUNTY COURT JUDGMENT gained against Miss Jess Corser for £6505.00. The Judgment will now remain on her credit file for 6 years, damaging her credit rating. The County Court Judgment remains UNSATISFIED.

Jess Corser continues to advertise horses for sale via the various social media platforms described.
